Medium Frequency is a kind of resistance welding where the transformer is fed by an INVERTER rising mains frequency from 50 to 1000 Hz. The current is rectified on the secondary of the transformer by means of a diode package. The primary absorption is three-phase with balanced load. The result is a welding system with higher performances than any other.
Field of application of MF welding
All the users of spot, projection and seam welding machines carrying out welds of any kind or requiring any of the following tasks:
Constant and certified welding quality
Remarkable increasing of the weld look
Welds involving great power
Difficult welds of coated sheets, metals with high conductivity, welding of metals one different from the other etc.
Production increase by shortening welding times
Energy saving and balance on the mains
How a MF welder is done
It differs from a traditional machine for the welding COMPONENTS, that are:
- 1,000 Hz inverter
- MF transformer with rectifier diodes on the secondary circuit
- Special microprocessor control or PC with suitable software
replacing the normal transformers, thyristors groups and welding control.
COSTEL proposals are
COSTEL can offer you complete MF three-phase welders, of any power. Further it is often possible to assemble MF groups on existing welders, renewing them completely and and exploiting all the advantages of this new technology with a reasonable investment.
